All-on-4
Walnut Creek, CA
If you have multiple failing teeth or are suffering from extensive tooth loss, perhaps you should consider All-on-4® Treatment Concept Fixed Hybrids as stable, permanent tooth replacement.
What Is the All-on-4® Treatment Concept?
This system of dental implants pioneered by NobelBiocare are a permanent solution to tooth loss.
In this procedure, a full arch of prosthetic teeth are supported on four implants, hence the name.
These implants are fused into the jawbone, which means that your jaw has to be significantly more stable. Following tooth loss, the bone surrounding those lost teeth can deteriorate.
Dental implants can actually slow and even prevent this. Once the implants are placed, you will receive a temporary set of functional teeth the same day until you are fully healed.
Before Surgery
Prior to receiving the All-on-4® Treatment Concept overdentures, you will be evaluated by Dr. Keith or Dr. Gibbs.
You will have a complete examination and receive a series of x-rays and CT scans. An impression of your mouth will be taken in order for your prosthodontist to create a temporary prosthetic for you.
Surgery
On the day you receive your temporary implants, any remaining teeth you do have will be removed.
After extraction, you will receive four to six implants per arch (this depends on if you have either the upper or lower set of teeth replaced or both sets).
After the implants are in place, you will be fitted with your temporary prosthesis, and you will be able to go home.
Recovery
The recovery process takes anywhere from six to twelve weeks.
During this time, it is recommended that you eat only soft foods. It may even be advisable that you consume only liquids during your first few days home.
You will visit with your prosthodontist frequently during the recovery period in order to ensure that you are healing properly.
Permanent Teeth
Once you are fully healed, another impression will be taken in order to create your permanent arches.
When these are finished, you will return to your prosthodontist, who will remove your temporary prosthetic and screw in your permanent ones. This prosthesis will look and act like real teeth and you will be able to go back to eating all of the foods you used to enjoy.
Care for these teeth is the same as if you had real teeth. This includes brushing twice a day and regularly visiting your dentist.
By visiting the Dental Implant Center at Walnut Creek, you not only ensure that your prosthesis is in good working condition, but that the overall heath of your mouth is maintained.
There are several solutions to tooth loss.
You can choose to go with removable dentures - false teeth that you take out each night and then re-apply again in the morning with adhesive. Or, you can opt for a permanent solution and choose All-on-4® Treatment Concept dental implants.
These stable, non-removable implants look and act just like real teeth, allowing you to quickly return to your normal lifestyle. Call us at (925) 266-3550 to schedule a consultation!
